According to the reports on the 4th quarter of 2010, online casinos’ profit is steadily increasing. The results came as a surprise for many casino owners who admit that the numbers are ahead of their expectations. Melco Crown Entertainment fourth-quarter profit is $774 mln, which is almost the double sum as compared to that raised during July-October. The main growth was driven to the established and well-known online casinos, while the new projects showed much poorer results. As compared to the losses during the same period a year earlier, these numbers look more than promising, they let us hope that the black streak for online gambling sites is coming to an end.
But the casinos situated in the eastern countries haven’t suffered from the world crisis at all and many of them reported increase in revenue even during the most severe economic times. Now they enjoy even bigger influx of players. Online casinos targeting at Singapore and Malaysia are on the top of success now with the flow of returning gamblers increasing every month.
The officials try to restrict the growing profit of gambling companies. Thus the authorities of the minor towns surrounding Maine, which is to host the first full-blown casino in the state, ask the legislators to oblige the casino to provide them with partial funding. Now only Oxford County is on the list of the areas which will receive a part of the casino revenue.
Genting Bhd’s 2010 pre-tax profit has just announced it’s also overwhelming. The revenue has almost doubled, as compared to the last year and is RM4.394 billion. The group profit has also reached the highest mark and is RM15.194 billion, which is 70% more than Genting Bhd’s casinos got during 2009.
